FC Ifeanyi Ubah's Brazilian coach Rafael Everton had boasted that his
team are going to win the Nigerian league after his team climbed up to
third spot on the league table after pipping league leaders Wikki
Tourists over the weekend.
Wikki Tourists are top of the table with 53 points followed by Rivers
United on 53 points then Ifeanyi Ubah follows closely with 52 points on
third place and Rafael believes his charges can do the Nnewi based club
proud by winning the league.
Ifeanyi Ubah will be
tested next weekend by cross town rivals Abia Warriors, who held them to
a goalless draw in the reverse fixture before playing a home game
against Akwa United, then away to Lobi Stars before a final game at home
against defending champions Enyimba.
“I believe we can win the league. Our team are more united now than when
I took over and we are working together and I believe we can win the
league,” declared Everton.
''I give thanks to God who gave us victory, credit to Wikki because they
are a very good side, but we played very well and got the win. What is
important was getting the three points in the game. We are well aware
that we are behind in terms of goals so we will focus on winning our
games and taking them one at a time.”
